On December 6, 2008, New Era Dental Society held their annual Christmas Party and Scholarship Presentation. The event was held at the Temptations Jazz Café, Phila,PA.
Dr. Eric Hodges, Chair of the Scholarship Committee presented the awards to the following students:
Veronica Baretto
Maiya Greene
Ujval Gummi
Aaron Issac
Anthony Monteiro
Akindeko Obede
Six $500.00 scholarships were given to academically advanced dental students from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry and The Kornberg School of Dentistry (formerly Temple University School of Dentistry). The awardees were all SNDA members.
Criteria for 2009 Scholarship
Requirements/ Eligibility:
- Must be a matriculating dental student at an accredited dental school.
- Must have 2.5 GPA.
- Must be a current member of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) verified in the application (copy of card, letters from SNDA President, copy of cancelled check, or receipt from local chapter).
Process
- Complete NEDS Scholarship application.
- Official copy of your most recent transcript.
- Submit Resume / Curriculum Vitae.
- Letter of request for scholarship consideration including:
- GPA
- Community / Civic Service involvement
- Proof of SNDA Membership
- Your aspirations in the Dental industry.
